چکیده

Computed Tomography (CT) has proven itself as a powerful technique for analysing the internal structure of cultural heritage objects. The process followed by conservators and technical art historians investigating an object is explorative: each time new question asked based on outcome previous investigation. This workflow however conflicts with static nature CT imaging, where planning, execution image analysis single scan can take days, or even weeks. A often requires conducting experiment, repeating analysis. means that needed to complete investigation longer than originally anticipated. In addition, it brings up more practical challenges such transportation object, facility availability dependence imaging operator, well cost running additional experiments. much interactive process, user adapt scanning insights discovered spot, hard accomplish. Therefore, in this paper we show how time-efficient explorative be created objects, inspected 3D while still scanner, observations resulting questions, procedure iteratively refined. We identify requirements scanner address diversity objects (size, shape, material composition), need adaptive steering required workflow. Our approach been developed through interdisciplinary research projects See-Through Museum Impact4Art. demonstrate key concepts showing results scanned at FleX-ray Laboratory CWI, Amsterdam.
